MISCHIEVOUSLY CLOWNING AROUND WITH MISCHIEF THEATRE

18 April 2024

Anyone that has ever listened to me for more than 5 minutes will know that one of my favourite theatre productions of all time is The Play That Goes Wrong. The things I would do to be in that show one day! One of my favourite theatre-making groups is Mischief Theatre. As a result, the second I saw that Mischief Theatre were launching their first batch of clowning courses, I just had to jump on board!

Over the next 6 weeks, I will be undertaking and embodying Mischief Theatre-specific exercises to grow my clowning skills, resulting in a The Play That Goes Wrong 'rehearsal' in the final week, where we play our clowns, playing characters from the show. Are you confused yet?

Under the amazing tutoring of Mischief member, Chris Leask (if you're familiar with The Play That Goes Wrong, The Goes Wrong Show or similar, he plays Trevor), I am nothing but excited to sink my teeth into 5 more weeks of Mischief after our first session tonight, which in itself, was spectacular.
