THE MEMORY PROJECT
5 July 2021
The Memory Project is a short-film, written and directed by Elizabeth Godber and produced by Smashing Mirrors, to raise awareness for dementia, including identifying symptoms and how to best care for somebody living with dementia as a carer, family member or friend.

I auditioned for, and was cast in, the role of Josh. Josh has recently lost his Grandad while he was living in a carehome during the Covid-19 pandemic. In my monologue (from a verbatim real-life person), I discussed how the carers were brilliant for my Grandad in his final moments, even despite the immense pressures Covid-19 added to their jobs.

I learnt so much working on this project with Elizabeth. I undertook Dementia Awareness Training for the first time, which was hugely insightful and not only learnt how to recognise dementia and offer support for those with it, but how to distinguish different types of dementia.

The Memory Project will very soon embark on a regional screening tour across Hull and East Yorkshire, which will be great for getting people talking about a very important cause.

Also how boujee do I look on that wall? It's like an album cover, eh?

ACCESS: Aidan is wearing a brown jacket with a fur-neck lining with a black t-shirt, black jeans and brown shoes. He sits on a high wall with a tree in the background. There are two men opposite him, both dressed in black. One of them holds a long-handled microphone and the other is operating a camera on a tripod.
