TWELFTH NIGHT BY WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE
13 August 2021
For as long as I can remember (and by that I mean since I knew I wanted to be an actor), Malvolio in Twelfth Night has been a dream role of mine to undertake. He's seen as such a snooty, self-obsessed character (historically the villain of Twelfth Night). However, I love him because there's so much more complexity to him than that, and I believe that he is arguably one of the biggest protagonists in the play! ...But I digress.

Remarkably, I was recently approached by Luke Adamson after he'd seen my acting work online, asking me to audition for his adaptation of Twelfth Night for not only the role of Malvolio, but Sebastian as well! I could've bitten his hand off if he wasn't at the other end of a video call. Luke is an actor himself and also the Artistic Director of the Bridge House Theatre in South East London. He is also directing this incredibly funny show!

Combining the unique surroundings of the rugby pitch this open-air production takes place on, alongside fab musical numbers from artists across time including The Monkees, Joe Cocker and Girls Aloud, this show is not to be missed (not to mention I will be the one wearing those beautiful socks on the left, as well as a zebra print dressing gown...)

Twelfth Night takes place at Selby RUFC on Friday 20th and Saturday 21st August 2021.
